I'm Bi-Polar and have always taken Lithium Carbonate. I mysteriously have never had to take HIV meds. Recently I read that Lithium protects the brain's neurons from damage caused by HIV infection. I went off Lithium for a while and my viral-load went over 100,000 and my T-Cells went to 250. I started taking Lithium again and everything was fine in three weeks. Does anyone know of any research about Lithium and the treatment of HIV infection?

Re: HIV & Lithium Bicarbonate
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 11:36 PMi will see what i can find, but the first thing i would reccommend, is to try ionic lithium. Minerals in their ion form have little interaction with other medications that have to be taken. In ionic form, it does not need broke down in the system to assimilate, and thus, a stronger dose can be administered in lower dosage as well. At one point in time, WaterOz.com, manufactured the best and purest form of ionic lithium available, they just never list it in their product line, its something you may have to inquire privately about to obtain, but at wholesale, it is also the most economically afforadable source as well.
this is intresting, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
